Nurture Spirit Etsy Store is UP!!

An idea I had for years developed one day to a seed....

That seed lay dormant under ground for a time, while the soil around it changed and evolved....

When the soil became just right, the inner workings of the seed started moving, started putting things into place and get ready for forward motion....

And when all the conditions above ground and below synced up together, the seed knew it was time to sprout......

Yesterday, that seedling broke free from the soil to feel the sun on its leaves for the first time.

The Nurture Spirit Etsy Store is OFFICIALLY Up and Running!

Nurture Spirit Creations is the unofficial name that I use to describe the online housing of my work.  I am SO happy to have that part of the plan now up and in existence!!  It did end up taking a little longer than I had anticipated... I'm kind of a procrastinator when it comes to those mundane nitty gritties!  I took a half day off from my day job yesterday to do what I thought would amount to just tying up loose ends... but it turned out to be slightly more involved.  But, the good news is I persevered (as a seasoned procrastinator, the proverbial "fire under the carriage" was exactly what I needed to fuel the machine), and the store is UP!

To celebrate the official opening, and to welcome everyone to Nurture Spirit, I crafted a new Tree of Life pendant specifically for a giveaway contest.  Using one of my favorite stones, I put together what I call the "Tree of Inner Wisdom," which uses the powerful Labradorite stone to stimulate the 3rd Eye Chakra and open the way to your inner wisdom.

With the Coming Spring...

Early Spring Growth, Hoover Forest Preserve, Yorkville, IL - March 2012

Birds are chirping like crazy, trees are starting to look fuzzy with new growth, and Old Man Winter is in the final showdown for control with Madam Spring.  With the new coming season of growth and renewal, so comes the new growth of my Nurture Spirit.

Store Update

I am so excited for the opportunity of helping you, dear Reader, with incorporating crystals into your life.  Know that with each piece you obtain, they were always intended for you!  Crystals have a way of finding the person who needs them.  Even if you just purchase a particular piece because you are attracted to it, if looking at it brings you joy, then it’s doing a job well done and makes me happy for it!  

It has been a bit of a challenge muddling through the nitty gritty and mundane details, but I was up for it!  It is much more fun creating pieces for you than it is managing the paperwork.  Isn’t that the way of life, however?  There is balance to everything! 

I’ve still got a few things to wrap up before launch, but it looks like I’ll be ready-set-go! for this Wednesday, the First Day of Spring.  We are starting with off with Nurture Spirit Intention Bags, a couple of Crystal Wall Hangings, and a few Tree of Life pendants.  I have so many more ideas in my head that are clamoring to come into existence, however, so keep watch!

Energy Healing

I am SO excited to have completed my Reiki 1 attunement on March 10^th.  It was such a great experience and I love my Reiki Master Teacher!!  It is so funny how alike we are.  She was definitely meant to be my teacher!

Since the attunement I have been busy practicing Reiki healing on my husband and our pets.  All of whom love every minute of it!  Reiki has a wonderful calming quality about it, and every time I complete a session I love seeing how relaxed the household is. 

The one thing I have to keep reminding myself about is to be a “channel” only.  I have a tendency to be a receiver to energy – it is my overly sensitive nature – and when that happens I tend to get very dizzy during sessions.  That is all part of the practice, however!

Reiki II attunement is set for April 14^th!

Nature!!

The recent change to Daylight Savings Time means that I have an hour of sunlight left when I get home from work, which translates to FOREST WALKS!!!! 

Nothing is more relaxing for me than a walk through the forest.  After a long day of sitting in an office, staring at a computer screen and typing away, the earthy, grounding aspect of the forest is just what I need to put me back at rights.  Plus, it gets my high-energy pup out of the house and allows him to burn off energy and get his sniff on.  I have been keeping my eyes open for spring growth to snap pictures and document the season’s change… we were blessed to have an early Spring in 2010, and I’ve been keeping watch ever since for a repeat!

I’ve also been O B S E S S E D with sunsets lately!!  Likely because I’m never up early enough to catch a sunrise on a walk, haha!  But, each nightly walk when there is no cloud cover I continue to try and capture the “perfect shot” of a sunrise.  I’ve gotten some really good ones, but they still don’t compare to the real thing.  Nature is the best artist, creating some of the most beautiful scenes of all.  There are moments where I literally stop, awestruck, mouth gaping…. It is those moments that I am truly grateful and honored to be alive to see them.

Announcing....

Welcome to the newest expression of my Heart and Soul …. Nurture Spirit. 

Nurture Spirit is an evolving concept that was born out of my journey to find my soul purpose… to discover what makes me happy and how I can share that with the world.  Through my search I’ve realized that I have always really known what that is, I’ve only needed a means through which to focus.  Where there is a need, one must only acknowledge and then remain open to the signs.

Nature… Healing…. Sharing…..

I absolutely adore being outside and in Nature.  I am always on the lookout for wildlife and interesting plants or trees… getting so excited when I spot an elusive animal, or turning a corner in a path to come across a gorgeous landscape.  I have an intense love and respect for our beautiful Earth and her creatures, and I’m always looking for ways to share this with others…..

One of my favorite things to do is to make people smile.  I love when people are happy, laughing and LIVING their lives to their fullest.  Being an emotionally sensitive person, I have always tried to bring others up when they are feeling down.  When I realized that I have a gift of feeling energy, I started on a quest to discover how I can develop it in order to help heal and in turn, help people to smile…..

Crystals and stones have fascinated me since being introduced to them a few years ago.  From that fateful day I have been studying and collecting them.  I love incorporating crystals into my environment in different ways, and pairing them with different elements to heighten their energy.  I often hear the question being asked on how to use them, and an “ah ha” moment ensued….

Bringing all of these components together for the purpose of:

♥  Nurturing Spirits… Mind, Body and Soul  ♥

I will soon be opening an online store selling unique and handmade items incorporating crystals and stones.  My personal intention as I design and create is to provide different ways for you to integrate crystals into your world.  March is the target month for opening… Stay tuned for more details!!!

Energy Healing

I am very excited to announce that starting in March I will be studying Reiki under the guidance of Reiki Master Teacher, Vicki Kuntzman.  Following the new moon cycle I'll be attuned to the different Reiki levels, so that I too can eventually share and teach this beautiful gift with other Seekers, and lend my hand (and energy) at helping to heal those who find their way to me. 

Reiki is just the beginning for me…  I’ll also be studying different methods of energy healing in order to continue developing my gift.  As I embark on different paths, I’ll post here!
